Angry Children Free Restaurants

Fellow member Raz Kaz posted a thread about Family and how there are too many roudy kids in the house among other things. This led me to think of my own experiences but in restaurants.

Sometimes I want to take my girl to a nice fun restaurant, but it never fails that once we sit down, the hostess usually places along side us or near us a family with roudy kids. Now mind you, some parents control their kids. But its the ones that let their kids cry, scream, run about like theres no care in the world. What is it with these parents? Are they in the frame of mind that since they have to deal with it all day that they have to subject the rest of the world to the same type of torture? I say, just like they have non-smoking sections they should also have non-kids sections. Am I the only one with bad luck going to restaurants. Has anyone else gone through this or have similar stories to tell?

Re: Children Free Restaurants

Just pick up one of the routy kids by the shirt, walk over to parents, hold the kid up and say in a stern voice " is this yours?", drop kid on parents lap and walk away. That should shut them up

Re: Children Free Restaurants

Putting up with noisy kids in a restaurant is bad, but not as bad as putting up with rowdy kids on a plane, kids whose parents feel they have no obligation to try to control their behaviour. THAT is hell my friend. Hell.

Just do what I do. Start making comments loud enough so the parents and other people(who are annoyed as well) can hear you. Make them smart ass comments too, like "It sure is quite in here tonight". Sometimes the parents get a little pissed and try and talk shit, but then when you come in with the comments of how they can't control their own kids and that they're going to be the ones stealing shit from me and others in the future it get hillarious.

Just a suggestion.

I guess you are right crayzayjay, a plane would be worse. At least with in a restaurant I can go outside to get away from the screaming. You can't do that in a plane.

Hey Texas, not a bad idea, but with my luck the parents would look like contestants on the WWF. I'll never get out alive.

i did that once when i was at the movies. I triped this little shit who felt it was fun to run up and down the isels(sp) during the movie making noises. The theater wasnt that crowded so i knew whos kid it was. saw um come in right. so i triped the little bastard, and picked him up by his shirt and draged him down the bottom to the door and threw him out the door. I walked back to my seat with a few people claping and i looked at the dad and whipered "I hope it doesnt run in the family" and sat down.

Anytime I see young kids in a nice restaurant, I get nervous. It generally means that they couldn't find a baby sitter who could tolerate the little bastard.

Re: Children Free Restaurants

I don't usually have many problems with annoying kids in restaurants. Movie theaters are where the little buggers piss me off. Whining and complaining because they are tired of waiting in line and they want to see the movie NOW, then running up and down the aisle, throwing popcorn, and kicking seats after they get bored of the movie in 15 minutes. If they really piss you off, knock your pop over onto they head. Most theaters give out free refills, so spilling a bit of pop is no big loss.

Hey Damien, are you still looking forward to a 35 hour flight to New Zealand?

Re: Children Free Restaurants

I've noticed something since I came to NZ. Whenever we go to a proper restaurant (as opposed to Mcdees) I've never seen any small, loud, annoying kids. Why? Chances are they're all down getting fat at Mcdonald's. It's great! Quiet eating is the win.
