318 wideblock problem
white power nagger
Hello,
I'm sure you guys have lots of questions to answer but I'm in need of some help please.
I have a 318 wideblock in an old bantam backhoe. somehow over the winter some water got in the intake port of one cylinder, and when i started it, it ran fine for a while but then bang, it quit running, tried pull starting it, wouldn't budge, pulled engine and found one bent rod and chipped piston. I put new rod, piston, and new gaskets went to start it and it is still getting water in the intake port again. I went to junk yard and found a different intake and put that on there, it is still doing the same thing. I asked a good mechanic and he had no idea what it could be, just had the heads redone so I don't think it can be a cracked head, and this thing sees maybe 5 miles a year, so It couldn't have gotten overheated, maybe it froze over the winter, I'm just not sure. any little bit of advise is greatly appreciated, I have to get this problem solved, dad wants her running soon.
