head unit resets everytime i start it
Hey all I am kind of a newbie to this but maybe someone will be able to help me. I have an '89 Honda Accord LXi and i took it in to a mechanic because it wouldn't start. (I even tested the battery before i took it in and it seemed fine). But the mechanic put in a new battery and all was fine. The promblem now is that whenever i start my car the stereo radio presets and clock and everything are all reset. I can change them again but after I shut my car off and start it again they go back to factory settings.
Any suggestions for this problem would be appreciated. By the way I was looking around underneath the head unit and i saw the end of a power cord so i followed it through the firewall it ended right next to the battery. Could there have been a cord on the + side of the battery going to my head unit that the mechanic didn't think i needed? Thanks Adamg |

The 12V constant on the radio is not hooked up, or
the 12V constant has a fuse and is blown. This is usually a red wire ran to the igntion switch. Theres 2 12V outputs out of the igntion switch, a switched one and the constant. |

hey thanks. How should i go about fixing this. I can see one end of the red wire underneath the middle console, and the other end of the wire right next to the battery. What do i need to do to fix it?
Thanks adamg |

Make sure that the red wire is hooked up to the ignition switch(red wire) or the batt. It its beter to hook it up to the ignition tho.
