stock tach problem
ive got a 94 civic ex auto with the tach, and ive been having some problems with it lately. first it started moving very sluggish, ie when id start the car it would take it a full 10 seconds to get up to idle (the engine was idling fine, just the tach is off) now today it just stopped working while i was driving, now it sits there at 2500 and i have no idea what to do. ive looked for loose wires, bad fuses, etc but i havent found anything. does anyone have an idea whats wrong?

Re: stock tach problem
it might be your distributor...thats similar to what mine would do i would be driving and it would just shut off, then all of a sudden it would turn back on...so check your distributor, i believe theres some kind of chip in it or something (maybe someone else knows) and if thats bad u have to get a new one and everything should work fine

Re: stock tach problem
The tach signal comes right of the distributor. Look under the hood and follow a blue wire coming from a clip on the driver's side, going straight to the distributor. My roommate had the same problem, replaced his distributor and was fine.
