where and how do I hook up my Tach. on my 93civic hb?

I bought a 93 civic hatchback recently which came with a Autometer tach, with wires going into the dashboard, but the tach doesnt work. I guess I need to rewire everything. I hear the wires go to the "coil". but have no clue where it is. can somebody tell me exactly step by step what to do? thanks
