2001 SC1 misfiring

I have a 2001 Sc1 that idles at about 2000rpms. #4 cylinder seems not to be firing.Has new injector, new wires and plugs, and the coli pack was checked. Compression check comes out ok. Can anyone help in determining the problem?

Re: 2001 SC1 misfiring

few ideas:
1. those weren't platium plugs were they? saturns don't those things.
2. check firing order: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 on block, 4 - 1 - 2 - 3 on coils
3. whats the temp gauge reading?
4. any SES light?
5. when is this happening? all the time, only at startup, under load, ect.

Re: 2001 SC1 misfiring

Bosch usilly means platium, i would start there, the platium contacts wear out VERY fast when exposed to oil, and as we all know saturns spit oil. most people say NGK "V-power" plugs work best, others say AC delco, but get the NGKs if you can. while you are there, lots of auto part stores will read codes for free.

another possiblity is carbon build-up in the EGR or IAC, both are easly to clean. but i would rather know the codes before jumping to conclusions.

I found the problem, the gasket on the intake manifold was crimped at one corner, I am assuming from the factory. $27 and the problem is gone.
