Re: Braking shaking and knocking

possibly worn upper balljoints.. jack the car up... grab the ...wheel and see if it shakes in and out in the wheel well... if so, that's the culprit.. when you brake...the wheel shakes in and out... must replace the entire upper control arm..

..or could it simply be warped rotors?

mine dose it cuz the tie rod ends are shot ... passanger side ... to check it jack the car up and shake the wheel (like its turning)left, right and if you have play that might be it... i compared my passanger side to the driver side and thats pretty much how i did it.. the driver side was nice and snug and the pas had a kinda loose 1/4 inch or so "clunk clunk"...

Re: Braking shaking and knocking

well i know my upper control arms need replacing, the ball joints are probably old too, but its only happening on the passenger side when both should be doing it. as far as tie rods, i replaced the ends back in december

I rode my car like that for over a year cuz I didn't notice but when my driver side went out I definitely noticed and replaced the both upper control arms w/ ball joints.

Re: Braking shaking and knocking

well once i get my next couple paychecks in i plan on getting new upper control arms and ball joints, struts and springs (regular height just b/c i'm having some weird camber problems after just a 1.5 inch drop so i'm going stock until i get everything figured out), and i'm gonna try to put in my new lower ball joints, i just gotta find time since i only have a couple weekends before leaving for school
