Trans am vs. the following

I have an 02 TA WS6, auto. What would it beat and not beat in just a drag race say from a 20 or 30 mph roll...A bmw m3, boxster s, subaru wrx, wrx sti, 350z, and those really fast dodge neon-looking cars???

From a roll like that, I'd say the WS6 has the advantage over all of them. Though the M3 and the STI are close enough that it'll be down to the skill of the driver in their car.

Re: Trans am vs. the following

Yea im sure that at 30 mph it would already have shifted up into 3rd so it would take you a sec to shift back down. Still should be able to beat everything execpt m3 and the sti. Kinda funny though that all of the cars that you chose are track cars.

Re: Trans am vs. the following

The M3 definitly will give you trouble, probably will lose that battle. From a stop an STI would be all over your Firebird if the STI driver knows how to launch, but from a roll, the STI might get the jump again, but I believe your Firebird should be able to pull and take a car length on the STI. All the other cars will see your WS6's back end all day and all night.

Re: Trans am vs. the following

Assuming you are talking about an E46 M3, be sure you'll lose to it and not just by a little. Even the STI has a pretty good chance to take you, because your Firebird is automatic.

The reason I picked these cars is because they were close in horsepower. I knew that the WS6 was said to have 325 hp but also was said to be underrated. I didn't know how underrated it was and I knew the m3 had 333hp. I knew that the ls1 in the corvette had 350hp and the ta's have ls1's as well....

Re: Trans am vs. the following

I would say from a roll...the WS6 beats out all minus the STi...maybe the M3

I have no doubt that the car was underrated. They didn't want equal numbers with their +20K offering in the vette. I'm sure they're not the only manufacturer doing that, but GM was one of the move blatent ones.
