Red face Finally at 100 posts!!

Jesus, that took forever. I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read, and I read,........

But I never have anything to say....

So over the last few days I have done nothing but post stupid comments that don't really contribute to any conversation, and probably annoy people just as much as stupid comments like that annoy the hell out of me. And why did I do this pray tell??? To get a stupid fucking avatar. That's why.

Does anybody else see something weird about the situation on this board. The mods and other people whine that new people are coming in and postwhoring up a storm(I can say postwhoring in this forum right??, I hope so because I am, sorry Hummerman if I screw up your bet.) But you can't have an avatar until you post 100 times, and they say that is to promote people to post, so that they will get a reward. But then they turn around and complain because newbies are postwhores. ARRRRGGH.

Oh well. I don't have to worry about that anymore. Not that I really cared in teh first place to begin with, but hey..... I lost my train of thought so I am going to shut up now.

The avatar is everything. It is you on the internet. Do you know how much time I spent making mine?!?! I have a complete bloody set! I had one for christmas and snowboarding. If I stay on AF long enough, I'll probably even make a spring and summer version.

Also, if you read my comment in this thread, I said that avatars are the most recognizable image you present yourself on the forums. So many people are changing their avatars now that they seem like strangers to me.

And yes, what Pikachoo says is true. There shouldn't be a post count threshold to obtain an avatar--it just promotes post-whoring to get one. That's basically what I did, as did probably many others.

I never really have anything good to say, or I'm afraid to get everyone all pissed so I usually just read and rarely post. but i'll get a lot of posts soon. thanks to whoever answers my dumb guy question .

There are no stupid questions. You're asking questions and educating yourself in the process--that is very good. We were all newbies once.

Yes, the avatar is the picture under your name. Here's an old one:

That's basically how it's done. Once you have 100+ posts, you have the option of uploading your avatar from your control panel. I made mine in PSP.

The first 100 posts is always hard. After that, you'd be surprise how quickly you reach 300. I slowed down after 500.

Oh thats very cool thanks a lot, i know this is stress release and this topic is not really stress related, I'm glad even thought people come here to release whatever is pissing them off that some people still make time to answer questions that plague the lower level or newer members of AF on a final note this forum rocks! I love having a place to go where i can let all of my feelings/oppinions out and even though some may not agree with them most of us are mature enough to see the others point of view. thanks again to jinushaun for answering my questions

Don't be so down on yourself, buddy!

There are many people at AF who welcome the opinions of new members....post up some stuff,we don't bite!It is considered very bad form to be disrespectful to new members and there's no such thing as a stupid question. If you are at all unsure about anything, find a moderator and send him/her a PM.These forums run on free speech, yours will help to keep it interesting!

Firebird, why don't you click here and try to upload an avatar now. You can borrow mine if you don't have one ready; just put in "http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/avatar.php?userid=534&dateline=1011668792" when it asks for the URL.

Well, see, truth is, the guy moderators used to bite until Igor found me to keep them all in line!!!

Mr. T: We all know who that "her" moderator post was about! :right:

But really, we are a fun bunch of people from literally all the world over!
