civic v. saturn

i have a friend that is always talkin shit to me that his saturn would beat my civic.
so its a match up between

saturn- not sure what year maybee anywere from 94-98. i know it is a 1.9L and it has a real shitty muffler on it. one from NAPA. it is a stick

me
im running a 98 civic ex (d16y8-vtec) stick shift also
1.6L and a cheap intake ( short ram?/not sure but it sits in the engine bay and sounds cool)
i normally beat cars like that all the time but i want to make sure befor i put any money down
dont want to make an ass of myself

Re: civic v. saturn

should be a good race honestly. i have a friend here who has a fairly new sc2 and its a 1.9l dohc goes decent. i beat him pretty easily but i could see a basic stock civic might be a good race. i believe the sc1's are sohc though so find out what motor he has.

Re: civic v. saturn

I used to race my stock civic against my friend's stock saturn all the time and I would always win. Then we switched cars just for shits and giggles and I beat him with the saturn. So I would say that they are close enough that it pretty much comes down to the driver. This was back in 98 so that's probably the same or similary car. Only thing I ever saw that I liked better on the saturn was that when it was doing about 90 mph it was still only up around 3 or 4,000 RPM, but that's just good for road trips, doesn't help too much in a race.

The fate of all Civic owners rests in your hands. Should you fail, i fear that the great Civic nation will perish.

What the hell am i saying? Just go race and find out. You win some, and you lose some.

Re: civic v. saturn

hmmm why not just go and race. Nahhh so much easier to just babble about it on the intardweb

who cares? 2 slow cars racing isn't anything cool or worrysome.

Re: civic v. saturn

LOL

Yeah dude just go for it - if I came in here and asked these fucking chuckle heads about every car I was gonna race from a stoplight, I'd never have time to leave the house.

Re: civic v. saturn

him not being able to burn out has nothing to do with his driving ability. Whatever happens, be sure to update this.
