ga16de swap out

I want to swap my ga16de out for something with more power

i was thinking of buying a junk se-r and using all the parts needed to convert my se into a sr20de

-am i better off just getting a sr16ve
-can the cams in a sr16ve be changed for more hp if needed or are the cams as good as they get
-the sr16ve is better than the sr20de right
-what is the hp potenial with a sr16ve
thanks

Re: ga16de swap out

The SR20DE is better than an SR16VE. If you want to do a VVL engine swap, look into the SR20VE instead. It's cheaper and more powerful than the 16.

the sr20de is not more powerfull than a sr16ve the ve will take it n e day but if u do wanna go vvl just get the sr20ve and put the sr16ve cams...also jwt is makin cams for the sr20ve now...but if wanna save cash just get the junked se-r and convert...

You're right, the SR16VE is more powerful than the SR20DE in terms of HP, but it will still lose. One word, my man....Torque. The SR16VE's measly 115ft-lbs of torque totally screws up the low-end power curve and(stock vs stock) cannot beat an SR20DE. No replacement for displacement.

Re: ga16de swap out

Go DET you would be happier. IMO the SR16 isn't worth it, and something to keep in mind you would still have to swap out the same stuff to fit a SR16VE as you would a SR20DE. A SR16 isn't direct bolt in.
