94 accord dx fuel guage sending unit????

I am having trouble with my fuel guage sending unit. The guage reads inaccurately and fluctuates a lot. Was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this unit? I took it out of the tank today and cleaned the electrical contacts with carb cleaner then electronic parts cleaner. The unit still sends erratic signals. Anyone replaced this? What does the dealer charge for this part? I did find that it is a dealer item by calling local parts houses.

Any help would be appreciated.

My wife's 93 accord se is having a similar problem. Her gas guage stops reading at 1/2 a tank. It just sticks there & she has to watch milage & wait for the orange warning light to come on. I am going to get one from a wrecking yard as they are far cheaper than the dealer. I am wondering if it is part of the fuel pump mechanism or a different opening in the fuel tank.

how did you remove the fuel sending unit? Isn't it under the carpet in the trunk in the right corner of your trunk if your standing behind the car. Just making sure. If yes, then where is the fuel pump located, I know its in your tank but do you have to drop the tank to remove it, or is there an easier way to get to it. Thanks

fuel pump located on left side and fuel level sending unit located on right side of trunk. both of them accessable from trunk, just remove cover plates.

What year accord do you have, I have a 94. just wondering if the fuel pumps where in the same place.

you said that the fuel pump was located on the left side and the fuel sending unit on the right. I found the fuel level sending unit but the fuel pump, where is it. it must be different in a 94 and 99 accord. Unless it's under the back seat, it's not there. So i guess i have to drop the tank to access it

yes its different for 5gen and 6gen accords.
6gen has only one openning in tank because fuel pump and fuel level unit is one assembly. on 6gen openning is pretty on center line of car, may be just a bit on passenger side.
