my thoughts on foreign v domestic

this is my thought on foreign vs domestic some people my agree and disagree. when people say ricers are wasting there money when they can buy a 540 big block and put the same money in the ricer and have over 900 hp. i think that is complete bs. for the money you put in the 350 is prob about 20 grand or maybe more (im really not good with pricing cars that why we got kellys blue book) lets say its 30 grand. and you do about 10 grand worth of stuff to the engine and you got about 500 horspower with a 350 chevy corvette. Now ima buy my rice car an Acura Integra for 5 grand put 20 grand into it and be pushing 500 hp or more. thats my thought on domestic v foreign. personally i think if you have a supra twin turbo 250 shot port and polished everything you got the picture and your pushing about 900 hp and you paid what for it? 30 grand vs your 30 grand 350 thats pushing 500 hp. i think you guys got the idea just my little thought do you guys agree or disagree?
hit me back just to chat truly yours ur biggest fan its the stan

I see where your comin' from. but i take the term "Ricer" to mean an import car w/ no performance upgrades, just visual. Ricer means different things to different people.

Usually Ricer to me means that you dumped your money into bullshit mods that arent necessary at all and you think you can run 10's with a Stock motor. it doesn't matter if it's import or domestic

alright well then take the word ricer and change it to import. but i do have a good point i think. dont get me wrong a c5 corvette vs my stock gsr the c5 will crush it and he wouldnt even need to launch he could give me a 3 car headstart and not launch and still beat me but if i did 20 grand worth of work id kill him and he paid about 50 grand for the new c5

Re: my thoughts on foreign v domestic

your totally off the mark, a 350 is very comon and cheap, nice try though. if you pay 20k for a 350 then your retarded. oh yeah, that c5 you speak of isnt just much faster in a straight line, it would also toast your car through twisties. it is well worth its price tag.

fact is when someone bashes on someone for liking either imports, or domestics, they are ignorant and close minded idiots. a good engine/car is a good engine/car, period. doesnt matter if it has 4 cyl or 8 or 16. oh yeah, put 10 grand into a ls1, and your gonna have shit loads more than 500hp. nice try. ever hear of boost? it doesnt take 10k to do it and do it well. putting 30k into a ls1, including the buy. well lets just say itll be as powerful as you need it to be.

in this section most people here are pretty open minded, we like all good cars, whether they be foreign or domestic. doesnt mean we dont have our preferences or loyalties, like i like ford, but thats ok. but would i take a good import if the opportunity arose, hell yes.

oh yeah, you give me 20k to buy an engine, i go buy a roush 427R for 14k and im startin off with 550hp

yea but usually most people with an american car (that races ect.)will call any import a ricer

if its not american its a ricer to them, and then the other stereo types follow
