i have a 2003 mlibu ls with every option available. when i checked the EPA rating for gas milage it was said to be 20/29 for 3.1 L V6 engine. my car gives me average of 22-23.5 miles/gallon in mostly city driving. the worst i have gotten was 20.56 and the best was 25.20. my goal was 25 but i would love to get about 26 miles in a gallon. i love the car and the engine is really great. my cousin's 95 altima with 4 cylinder gives him about 26-28 average. i do follow some of the rules to save the gas. FOR EXAMPLE=== for hte most part i almost never turn the AC on, i usually don't press pedal to the metal and do other regular check ups. i am just wondering that what kind of milage are you guys getting and if any of you have any suggestions to improve.
thank u. |

That's about what I get in town out of my 2000 w/ the 3.1L...that's about all they get in town. Highway is a different story...when I drive all highway, I get 28 with the AC running and about 32 with it off. K&N just came out with a stock replacement air filter...you might want to try that...I've got more power AND better gas mileage just by using it.

i have even better average recently. today i filledup and in 11.107 gallon malibu averaged 25.50 MPG in about 90% city driving and gave 283.1 miles. i did't have a chance to to for long trips on high way but by estimation i would think that it will get about 32-35 MPG. this is good average considering the higher prices at pump.
