Where do I go now? newbie

Ok i'm a car audio freak but i'm not to hip on performance. I know how to install the parts, but don't know what works best with what. I'll list what i have and what i need to know is what should i do next. This is on a 96 integra b18 non-vtec
parts already installed:
exhaust: dc sports header ,hi-flow cat, hks super drager catback
Intake: Aem CAI Fuel delivery: aem fuel filter and aem fuel pump. Ignition: Msd external ignition nology wires and iridium plugs
I have also installed skunk2 cams and cam gears.
I have about a grand i'm willing to drop on some more performance. Everyone is telling me to save up more and just put in a turbo or supercharger, but i would rather have a strong engine before i put a large hp gaining peice on. I've been thinking about getting a head and ecu for it and converting it to vtec. i have been told to do a new fuel rail aswell as injectors. But i dunno what i should do...

Well i would just buy forged pistons and rods if your goin turbo. It seems like you got the fuel part done and all thats missing is turbo. I didn't know skunk2 came out with Non v-tec cams?
