Gear Indicator Broken
I have a 93 K2500 with a 4L60E automatic transmission. My problem is that the little spring broke and the clip one end attaches to that moves the mechanical gear indicator slide. I went to the local chevy dealership and they said these parts were both discontinuted. I need to have this working so I can get emissions done here in Maryland. Junkyards wont sell just this part and I dont want to sink a lot of money into buying a whole new instrument cluster. Any ideas or companies to contact would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Gear Indicator Broken
I thought the 4L60E used a lighted PRNDL and the gear position lit up from what wire the park/neutral switch sent power thru. Are you sure that its a 4L60E, it will have M30 in 1 inch letters on the passenger side of bellhousing, well if you can call it that, in 93 the bellhousing wasn't removable

Re: Gear Indicator Broken
positive..i rebuilt it. THE PRNDL is just a orange bar that is connected to a wire that wraps around to the bottom of the column. Then there is a spring that returns it back to P when the lever is taken back up. That is the spring that is broken. and the little pearch that it attaches to on the slide is broken.
