Are all steel toe boots uncomfortable?

My new job requires that I where steel toe boots and so I went out and bought some $50. boots.I tried them on first and they felt better than the rest of the boots there.

I tried walking in them and they feel all bulky and heavy.I went for a drive and man I couldnt feel the pedals worth nothin.

Has anyone here gotten Redmans or a steel Toe boot that doesnt look all bulky and feel it?

Thanks

I have to wear high-top steel-toe workboots for my job at the mill. And let me tell you, there is nothing any worse than being on your feet all day in a pair of boots that are uncomfortable.

I wear thick wool socks with mine, as I find they help to cushion my feet. Some people find them uncomfortable or itchy, but they do help. Also, just like any good boot or shoe, the boots will take a few weeks to break in.

So try different socks, and the boots will only get better as you break em in.

Hope this helps...

if you don't mind spending th ecash then dock martins actually make a steel toed boot that is extremely comfortable. they are expensive though and it is softer leather.

I got CAT's that I use occasionally in winter by now mainly in Tech class. (Weldign is fun but hot and painful with sandals) Mine are not at all uncomfortable but I only spend about 2 hours in them.

Iron Age has shoes that look cool high tops, my job requiers them too. they only comfortable for 2 months, not even aftermarket insoles make it better. Wolverine are popular w/ rednex & Red Wings are No.1 in the nation, especially w/ road workers & building construction workers.

I found a pair of Corcoran steel toe jump boots. They are superior to doc marten, redwing, and wolverine. I wore them on days when I didn't have to work. After a while, you get used to them and when you take them off, you feel like you can run like 100 mph.

they're even more uncomfortable when you drop something really heavy on them and the steel bends and severs your toes. just a worst-case scenario....

Might consider these...

I've been wearing a pair that some guy suggested at www.mycouponbox.com He looks like a dork, but I can agree with him on these steel toes.

I just bought a pair of columbia Pro series steel toe boots to replace my old wolverines. they felt amazingly comfortable in the store (like they were made for my foot) but when I started trying to pull 10 hour days in them I realized how very stiff the new leather was. anyway after a week or so they loosened up and they are actually quite comfy now.

edit: dammit I just went back and realized it was an old thread.... friggin newb don't bring back old threads!
