Re: k&n really a big differance in a 2.0 1999

k&n gave a .9hp gain on a zx2 but any better air flow is better then stock, and 1 K&N that has a milllion mile warrenty is cheaper then 1 filter about ever 18mo's

tornados and tuff just blocks the air path they dont do shit

Re: k&n really a big differance in a 2.0 1999

My neighbor has a 1999 Ford Escort SE. He and I removed his intake silencer and airbox and bought a k&n filter im place and used it as an "open air filter". The sound was about the same, maybe a bit deeper. The car did sound a bit deeper at higher rpms however. I would say that the mod is good for the price. You can check out his escort at www.cardomain.com/memberpage/517955 If you would like to get ideas about the k&n mod and the open air filter. (forgive me if he doesnt have pics of it up yet). Good luck.
