Re: no spark! Help please!!
I am not sure if there is a fuse for it but look at the fuse box and see if something looks blown.
Also maybe the wire harness that runs to the coil could be the problem

Re: no spark! Help please!!
if its not the same engine model you might need an ECM for that engine. if thats not the problem, just plug up an OBD-II reader and let the ECM tell you

Re: no spark! Help please!!
crank sensor? that controls the spark right there!!! CHECK IT! its on the back side of the block, somewhat in the middle... you can get to it from under the car, if there is just a hole then you need to put a crank sensor in it! if its there check to see how tight the connection is and if there is a good connection take the sensor out (2 - 10mm screws holding it in) and either have it tested or get a new one!

Juggalo If I were you I would definately check all the wires make sure everything is plugged in. I did the same swap a few months ago. It was a pain in the ass. Also I dont know if you notived but check the crank sensor. And there is also a little resistor on the engine somewhere it might be on the top of the engine to the right or on the front of the engine to the right and it has a single wire going to it I had mine unplugged once and it made my car act funny..... the last option might be to check the coil pack make sure you have the right one. Because there are to coil packs depending on which engine you got. One has flat terminals and the other has round terminals. So once again make sure your wiring is meeting up properly and everything is plugged in nicely......... Hope that helps let us know the outcome.

well i checked and checked everything once again .. changed the crank sensor from the old motor because i knew it still ran.. and nothing yet? im getting 5 volts to the coil pack but after that im getting nothing? im getting pretty pissed off because my dsm has been down for about 3 months and there would be nothing better than gettin my car back on the road.. so if anyone has any more ideas or if im missing anything stupid please let me know.. i have chaned all the wiring and sensors from the old motor because i know that it ran and it just turns over and over but no spark!!! please let me know if you know anything im missing!
i can't use an obd tester because they only work if your check engine light comes on right? i think im just gonna blow the damn thing up! lol Last edited by Juggalo; 07-17-2004 at 09:12 AM. |
