Keeps blowing, need some help

I just got my new system, built my own box. I have 2 kicker s12l7s and a hifonics bx1500d. The subs are in a big ported box. but my problem is i keep blowing fuses the amp is 4 guage thats what power wire i have, the inline fuse is whats blowing it was originally 80 but it keeps blowing those, i dont know if theres a bigger fuse i can get or what but somethings wrong....everything is hooked up good. If someone knows what their doing please help me theres nothing worse than having a $1400 dollar system and it not work.

you have a short somewhere on your 12v powerline ... or your amp's power supply is bad.

Re: Keeps blowing, need some help

the thick cable that connects your battery to your amp is your 12v powerline. re-check that entire cable run, and make sure the only exposed wire is on the ends where they have solid connections. if you have a voltmeter built into your dash check that your output voltage is between 10-17vdc, because current (amps) is directly proportional to voltage. more volts = more amps, and if it exceeds your fuse rating it'll blow. if you need to, use a stand alone meter to gauge your output voltage.
