a/c cool then warm

I have a 92 Civic LX w/ 153k on it. I am having a problem with the a/c. When u turn it on, it will be cool for approx 15-25 mins then it will start to blow warm air for at least a few mins until u cant take it anymore. I turn the a/c off and then about 5 mins later turn it back on and its cool again and repeats everything as mentioned before. I have a low pressure a/c gauge and the freon reads normal. What could be the problem??? I imagine whatever it is, its likely on its way to completely going out if not already and the car will blow warm air all the time. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanx

try re-charging the freon supply...there's an easy re-fill bottle they sell at autoparts stores that allows you to re-charge the system yourself. Cost is around $25, but the compressor could be bad too, good luck.

Re: a/c cool then warm

shit it is 14 years old. last year on my 93 i replaced the compressor. you need to do a freon conversion if you want to try and refill it yourself. But it is not really looking good for your AC system. it is old and shit.
that is my opinion.

PS, check all the underhood fuses and relays, the AC system has like 6 different fuses and relays for the compressor, fan, ect. Also get a $15 Hanyes, or a $65 Helms manual.
Good Luck!!
