99 Tahoe Performance Help!
What's sup all, Mid Missouri Beast here (Mo'Beast)-- I have a 99 Tahoe LT, completely shaved, 22"s, full catback exhaust, AEM bruteforce intake, throttle body with some other goodies (not performance related). I'm asking for help on getting more power and torque. I've opened up the engine pretty well with the intake, exhaust, and throttle body, I know I could use headers and a couple other things for increased flow. But I would like you guys to point me in a direction for a good programmer (i.e. hypertech) and performance chips where to purchase and for a good price. Also what about forced induction, like a supercharger? obviously a lot of work would need to be put into that vortech engine to handle a s/c like pulleys, possible stroke/ honing, not to mention the engine and trans has 88k on it, but has all been service regularly by me, oil at every 1500, trans and diffs at manufacturer's recs.
So if you big boys out there could give me a heads up on getting some mean power, maybe even power enuf' to smoke my tires that would be nice (not smoking my nice rims and tires, but my other set...) Thanks much! Jake. |

Re: 99 Tahoe Performance Help!
I've heards Vortech Engineering makes a really good supercharger for the Tahoe. As far as chips, I would go with the Hypertech Power Programmer. I've heard it is really effective on Chevy trucks and specifically the Vortec engines. Headers would be a really good mod to begin with, though.
