When you consider that the racing trucks here and in europe can make well over 1,200hp and should run easy 10sec 1/4 its not as funny as you might think.

Even a stock standard tractor unit with out a trailer and only 400hp can run into the 16s, which is faster than most members cars.
The reason most people think trucks are slow is the tractor unit is often pulling between 5 and 7 times its own weight. (depends where in the world you are). I woud like to see somes car do that.
