Re: How Fast Are You

are these numbers done on an engine dyno, or a chassis dyno? Im makin somewhere in the 210-220 (chrank hp) range. Not yet ran on the 1/4-hell its not even road legal yet.

fast T-Birds

If y'all want to see about some really hot T-birds visit The Super Coupe Club of America site. sccoa.com I think. Mid 13.'s and 23 mpg is the norm. I get 26 to 28 with my 89 SC bone stock and 190 k. As for top speed the T-bird SC is probably one of the fastest ever American production cars. no bull. On sccoa you will find pictures of speedometers at 145+. I'll be d...med if I would ride in the back seat to snap a pic at 145+!!!!! but they do. This is probably one of the largest cult car groups around. Everthing and anything that can happen to a T-Bird has been discussed many times on this forum.

Re: How Fast Are You

88 Turbocoupe (2.3T)
Stock 190-hp 240-ft/lbs 15.8-1/4 mile
Now: est. 250-hp 300-ft/lbs?
Don't have a clue about the 1/4. Will eventually get it to the 1/8 mile track nearby. I think sub-15's is reasonable. I do know if it breaks traction it will redline and never hook! Got an average of 25 mpg with a mix of highway and aggressive city driving.

Okay, I'm done blowing hot air.

but yet you claim you have 167hp? according to what? the 'seat of your pants' dyno? the 89-95s had 140 crank hp and 96/97 had 145 crank hp. my 96 with just a k&n ran a 16.979... i seriously doubt you have 167 hp.

i have a 89sc with a few mods including cold air intake dynomax exhaust 5% over drive supercharger pulley and a new set of clutches for the crappy factory mazda 5-speed. i have no clue how much horsepower i have but i did run a 14.398 at 93mph. i dont think that is very good but its not shabby for an over weight low tech v6 with almost 180,000 miles.

Re: How Fast Are You

6.6 liter, 252hp/363tq on a chassis dyno, 15.4 through the 1/4 with 2.7 60ft times all at over 5000' of elevation. Capable of mid to low 14's at this altitude if the thing could get traction and bring the 60' times into the 1.5-1.8 range.

Oops, you wanted to know about my tbird, didn't you? Slow.....
