My olds dont start at times

I have a strange car. Its an 90 olds 3.1. My situation is no matter what the time of a day this car will start and then die. Now when dead, it would not start. I have to wait 1 hr before its starts again. During that time wait, the vehivle will not turn over at all. This happens once in a while. Is there a reason or should i worry. Cause its such an annoying factor when you are stuck in traffic and then it dies on you. please help
