Thumbs up Rice and the ridiculous

You gotta love it.A guy in a mid '90's Mazda 929
decided he wanted to race.Had one of those fart can
mufflers.Took off from the light, chirped my tires a little.
I could here his motor winding up,biut nothing happens.
I'm already doing 80.Beat the crap out of him.I'd say
maybe 1/2 mi to next light. He catches me as I slow for a
light."Man you got a fast car" I holler " Supercharged"
"You gotta give me a lead" I laugh to myself I don't think so

That's hilarious, yeah, some people just don't know when they're outclassed... I know I wouldn't race a dual exhaust T-bird with my '87 Z, and that's saying something. *chuckles* Ok, well, maybe if it had a V8 sticker on it.

I live in a fairly small town and it seems that at every stop light I stop at, there will be this little Honda or Toyota or some little coffee can exhaust POS, that seems to think that my dual straight pipes are intimidating. So he (or once she) decides to wind up that little 4 cylinder. Let's just say, looking through the rearview, I always seem to see some kind of craZy look of astonishment. I think that it has to do mostly with the fact that T-birds are so large…but they still seem to haul ass. haul ass

Yep, just like performance isn't just about horsepower, it's not all weight either. After all, with enough horsepower anything can be fast.

I don't mind imports that are quick its the ones that sound like a weed eater and can't run a 20 second 1/4(lol).

Yes, and it seems that the only ones in my town are the shitty ones that aren't fast. And this one in particular, that I think follows me around, seems to always want to race. It is this little red Honda, with a Dominoe's delivery sign on the top of it. Has no power, and has a coffee can exhausts, ugh !

Re: Rice and the ridiculous

Don't disgrace your car by racing him.

Besides if you raced him he would probably blow the motor and then he would probably try to sue you(you can a lawsuit for anything these days)

Yeah... although what really gets me is not the obnoxious noise (I had a neighbor with an excessively loud Z28, and that was a really awesome car) nor the fact that they're slow, like any number of heavily riced cavaliers around the area... (which is really odd, I've seen about as many riced cavaliers as civics)

What gets me is that they overestimate their car's abilities. One of my favorite memories is beating the snot out of one of those riced cavaliers with its dual fart-cannons, and the perfunctory park bench, and a funky body kit... What was really memorable was the fact that they said they thought my Z was a CRX. *chuckles* Oh, and the fact that I had 3 people, a TV, and a bunch of other stuff packed into my car... It was hilarious.

Re: Rice and the ridiculous

yea i was drivin' around in my tbird before the headgasket blew, it's a '93 with a 3.8L. a mercedes pulls up next to me and revs it's engine. I look over and it's like a 35/45ish dude, must have been having a mid-life crisis or something. so we both shoot off of the light and I smoke him to the next red. i was stopped before he was even braking. he pulled up next to me and wouldn't even look at me. the kid in my passenger seat and me were just laughing our asses off.

ah yes, good times, good times.

You know how it it is, add a loud muffler, k & n filter and a 50 pound spoiler you got yourself a high performance machine. Not to mention putting on some stickers and adding some yellow paint tacks on about an extra 20 hp.

Re: Rice and the ridiculous

you have 260 hp, and raced a 130 odd hp car? meh. How about a Camaro SS vs Camaro Z28 w/ NOS, or a flat out top speed sprint- Camaro SS vs Mitsibushi 3KGT.
