New engine or new car...need help

Just asking for your input.

So I've got a 91 si civic. 315k kilometers on it, burns a lot of oil, but other than that its in decent shape. Seeing how its burning oil I'm thinking on doing an engine swap really soon, maybe get a better engine and get some more hp. I could do that or in the next year I'm sort of thinking on getting a new/newish truck.

I'm pretty much going to be getting a truck sooner or later so its a decision on whether I fix up the civic and wait for the truck, or just hold onto the civic until the truck comes. The civic is a fun car to drive so that why I'm thinking on fixing it up, that way I'll have a city car along with the truck.

Anywho tell me what you think.

I would hang on to the Civic. I just bought a truck a few months ago and let me tell you. The gas mileage between the two is huge! Everyone needs a truck but, for every day driving, you'll appreciate the fuel economy despite a little oil burning.

yea, really depends on your needs. If you're going to end up getting a truck anyway, go ahead and get one. But if you can wait a while, fix up the civic!! An engine swap will make it feel brand new

Re: New engine or new car...need help

yeah get a new engine or get a rebuilt one and that way you wont burn any oil. ive had my share of problems with my civic but in the end i wound up loving the design and all so im sticking with honda. Believe it or not i used to be a ford (especially mustang) lover (still like em) until i rode in my friends integra and drove my aunts civic.
