New 240...or New Engine....!

So I have this 240, '91 coupe, 145k miles, the equivalent to the Jack, (no sunroof, no power anything, no lsd, no wing, etc.). The car is in generally good condition but there's a lot too it that bugs me and I will have to fix in the future. Like the front bumper needs paint, a dent in the driver side, and new wheels, and some other things not worth mentioning. I've finaly got enough money to drop in an SR, and I've been planning too since I got it in April.

So today the owner of one of the local tuner shops calls me and says he has a '93 240sx SE in mint condition (not sure on miles yet....) on it's way to our area, and he wants to know if I knew anyone interested in it. At first I was like, yeh maybe whatever I'll ask around. Then I thought about it...he wants pretty cheap money for the condition of the car, and with the money I would have to spend to fix or add the things that the new car has that mine doesnt, it would be well worth it in the long run to just get this new one and sell mine.

So my predicament is basically, spend my SR money on a new 240, and sell my current one ASAP and then get an SR like in a month or two. Or get the SR now and say fug it and just keep my current car. What do you guys think?

I'm totally leaning towards the new SE 240. Any opinions?

yea find out more about the car first.....and if its in the so called "mint" condition buy it then do sr swap. Like you said it would only take a few months after selling your current one to buy the sr.......so why not get the best of both worlds? I hope thats understandable the way i typed it out.

I say go for the new SE only IF you know you can definately sell your current 240 (unless you don't mind ending up with 2)...

Like Chuki_breath said, if it would only take you a few more months after selling it to buy the SR, why not get best of both worlds? which IMO is true! This way you won't have to worry about those little things (or big things) that have been bugging you!

If it looks good and has low miles grab it. Be sure to take a good look under the car. See if it looks clean.

test drive, check out, and if it is fully loaded, and lower miles, get it. Sucks to do a sweet motor swap into a car you don't like.
