oh god help me!
I have replaced so much shit on my 94 sentra xe.... and its beginning to become a pain in the ass, and its hurting the wallet.. just these past few months, i have had all of this stuff replaced.... fuel pump, throttle cable, brakes (all the way around, couldnt be rebuilt...) battery, and transmission... and i had the engine replaced about 2-3 years ago.. NOW! there is ANOTHER DAMN PROBLEM!!! well two that i know of.. one is i need an entire new exhaust system (dont need help with that)
but I do need help with this.. I was driving around town, and I noticed that everytime i would hit my brake pedal, my speedometer needle would drop completely to zero mph, even when i was still moving, it did this for about 1-2 minutes, then i came to a stop and the damn thing stalled on me, and it wouldnt start again. I have a feeling its the alternator, but im kind of dumb with this stuff so i need help.. anyways, i got the car towed and they charged my battery cuz they said it was dead ( it was a brand new damn battery, not even a month old)... so I brought it home, and when i got home i left it sit, and it has been sitting there for 3 weeks now, and i start it everyday, and it starts and runs.. but im almost too scared to drive it incase it happens again.. so if anybody knows why it is doing this, please let me know.. if its too costly, im scrapping the sentra ( i really dont want to... but damn.. too much $$$$ has been put in it these past few months already)... thanks, and i hope i get an answer soon.. |

Re: oh god help me!
Exchanged mine at Autozone for a reman : $129.99 ...
Note that if you don't exchange, they will charge an extra 85 bucks more. On the other hand i saw some on the 'net for about $162 with free shipping and no exchanging... probably remans. If you can do the job yourself, will save the service charge. make sure to have the battery previously charged before turning on the car with the new alty. |

running on no juice
B 4 you replace the alty, have it tested as they are very expensive. Any auto parts store will do it for free. If that checks out, see if you have a speedo cable or a sensor. Could be the sensor giving the computer false info.
