Question

96 4Runner with a howl???

I have a 96 4Runner with a howling noise in the left front area. Under closer inspection when I rotate the left wheel by hand I can hear a ticking noise from the differential. I don't hear this when I do the same thing to the right side. The fluid is full. Any ideas? Easy fix's? Other test's to find the problem? Thanks...
