Find a 12 volt source with ground. Place a positive lead on the positive and touch the negative to the other terminal/terminals, if it clicks or closes it is working if not it is bad.

Hi.

The relay is a closed unit and when i put 12 volts to it there is no click and I can't see if it is closing.

Now What?

Connect a test light to the terminal that the relay is supposed to supply voltage to. Apply the voltage as before, if the light comes on then the relay is good. If it is on when you connect it and the light goes off it should be good as well. If no light then the relay is probably bad and needs replaced. (Don't forget to ground the test light or it won't work.)
