The lights on the instrument panel of my 1993 XR7 Cougar has recently quit working. I checked out the fuses but they all look good. I happen to have an extra instrument cluster (another story about the odometer no longer working). I noticed there are a couple of bulbs marked 'ILL'. Are they for 'Illumination'?
Just need to know so I can figure out how to fix this. |

yes those should be for that if there are marked , easy way to tell is if you have a DVOM pull the bulb out in the area it doesnt light up and put the leads on each end of bulb on the contacts there should be about .02 ohms of resistanceif it continues to to show "O L" on the meter the bulb is blown...
Blown R1
