89lxhatch verse 95gt (i tried searching)

sorry if this has been asked, but i tried searching and i couldnt find much comparing the 2. ive heard the 89 weighs less, is this true? is it by a lot or just a couple hundred pounds? also, do they have same transmissions? (stock manual) i was basically wondering if the 89 would beat the 95 bad or just a few tenths of a sec. THX!!!

Re: 89lxhatch verse 95gt (i tried searching)

A couple hundred pounds is a LOT when talking about car weight. 170lbs makes a big difference. (general rule of thumb is every 100lbs removed makes the car lowers the 1/4 mile time by .1 second).

89 LX 5.0L = 225hp/300torque, 3110lbs
95 GT 5.0L = 215hp/288torque, 3281lbs

The 89 is faster.
