K guys, I'm new and maybe this has been covered but here goes.

I use to install for a living, but never did a P11 G20, my question so I don't have to tear apart my dash for the hell of it hehe is can you move the heater controls to the bottom and radio to the top? (easily) Reason being is that I work at Clarion, and I'm trying to get them to let me at some product to make my car a demo vechicle (hehehehe) And I'll probably be getting the motorized head unit with the 7" LCD and I figured it would probably be a pain to adjust the climate controls with the screen raised........ Anyways I was just wondering.....
Thanks
Chris

i've been contemplating the same thing as my flip out alpine screen is a pain to get to the climate controls... havent really had the chance to inspect... i think it can be done rather easily though.

Well, I recently added a cd changer in my car and I had to rip open the head unit. It wasn't hard at all. They only hard thing was taking the dash cover off. The two screws on the bottom, and then you have to pry the sucker open. As for the relocate? You should be able to do it. I think I've seen it before somewhere.

i think it can be done fairly easy...i wanna put a flip-out screen in my ride also...i was thinking of the same thing...but in my situation, i was looking to get the new kenwood excelon in-dash screen and dvd-player together and put a self-powered kenwood single-din center channel...so i might move my climate controls all the way to the bottom...

To the people thinking of using that kenwood center, I'd advise against it...... Clarion makes a powered center also, but smaller, and if you think about what your center is used for in 5.1 sound, a speaker that small would be your weak point. The center reproduces voices and some directional sounds, a speaker the size of a din opening, or clarions 2.7" just isn't going to produce any of the mids needed to be a true "center" channel. I'm looking at putting a 5 1/4" in the center console below the radio and perhaps a smaller speaker like clarions 2.7" up higher on the dash..... Just my thoughts on the subject.....
You could use a kenwood speaker thats larger though, no brand biasing here, just any make or model speaker that small I'd be second thoughting....
Chris
Slightly biased towards clarion :-P since well I work there and get a killer discount.

I've taken my dash apart before, and I don't think you'd be able to move everythin around like you want to. I was going to switch the factory head unit and the climate control for the hell of it, and the screws are in different locations, and at different mounting depths. I'm sure it could be done, but it would take some custom work. Not just the Remove and move you are expecting. If you want to look for yourself, removing the dash front to look at everything is easy. Just two screws at the bottom, and pull.

Thanks silver G20, thats what I figured, my 200SX was like that...... As for the guy up a few posts, yes I have all that wiring info, but I won't be getting it for a bit lol.... I've switched PC's, jobs, houses, ect. Anyways when I find it I'll post all relevant G20 wiring here, and I hope your car is safe until then. :-P
