71 ss elcamino guage cluster ground
I recently installed a ss dash back into my elky, the shop manuals are very vague as to wiring. Does anyone out there know where to hook the cluster ground. Pictures in the manuals show it over on the tach end but not vin any detail. HELP!!! Tach does not seem to want function without ground, tach to distrib is hooked.

Re: 71 ss elcamino guage cluster ground
you do realize nothing electroic works without a ground right,(well atleast it wont work properly). you can ground anything anywhere on mettal. it doesn not have to be a spacific place. all it has to do is go to some metal on the body. you can crimp on a connecter and put in under a bolt on the firewall somewhere or on soemthing for the e-brake or whatever. there should be a metal brace behind.under all that stuff that you could put in on or something. i dont really know where the factory ground goes but it can go anywhere metal.
