Post 1992 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 Euro

I have a Chevy Lumina [1992] 3.1 Euro 4-dr sedan. I would turn on the ignition and then use the gas afterwards as it turned on, but when I let my foot off the accelerator (gas), the car dies. Repeat efforts were made to same results. Car runs, but dies when I release the accelerator. Any causes to this type of trouble? If so, information will be most helpful as I ran out of ideas. Also when engine shuts down or starts a whirring sound can be heard in the back closest to the gas tank. Anyone can help me? Thanks.

Going to see if that is problem

Hey Cakuzma,

I am going to have someone check it out to see if that would be a problem that my Lumina is currently having. So far we have ruled out that it wasn't a gasoline/fuel injector problem because gasoline flows well. About how much would a vacuum hose to the trany would cost a guy nowadays? But thanks anyway, I will keep and anyone else that should post after this post posted. Wish me luck on that.
