Why do you need a sports car for? Just saying, I had a 1999 Pontiac T/A WS6. Fun car, but costed way to much to own. That meaning insurance, service, and repairs. I would just reccomend a used Accord or Civic. Hell you could get a newer V6 accord coupe with decent milage for about the price you are asking. Trust me they are not really sporty but then they are no slouches. My .02

there are plenty of sports cars out there you can get for around $12K...Porsche 944Ts, 928s, older 911s, you could get a '77-93 vette for that, maybe a 300ZX or other Z car, any MG (they are a reliability nightmare, though)...there are tons, it just depends on what you are looking for and what your insurance/fuel budget is

Porshe's are too small (at least to my parents), the vette's have hella miles on them, and 300zx's are too expensive for a decent one. The fuel efficiency has to be at least decent, nothing terrible. Insurance isn't much of a problem, i got a quote for a firebird formula and a mustang GT and since one of my parent's will be down as the main driver and me as just a secondary driver, plus we have a lot of people insured on a few cars the rates aren't bad at all. RELIABILITY is the big thing, this car is going to be my car for a while, as long as i can keep it going (hopefully a while).

I've had my lisence for about a year, its not a huge amount of time, but its not like i just got it, and before my lisence i had my permit for 7 months. ANYWAYS, i haven't been driving it as much as i could be, just because if i drive a long time thinking about trying to get better i just end up sucking more and getting aggrivated. So i am just taking it on normal trips out on errands, and its working ok for me. As long as i can drive it ok by the 7th
. But now my problem is giving it too little gas starting out in first, i used to give it too much, now its a bit rocky with too little, but every few shifts i get the perfect shift where you don't feel a change at all, just smooth....i just gotta get more consistant. Car = chick magnet, me driving it = double chick magnet....stalling out in front of a group of girls = bad so i hope i don't, lol |
