just finished my ZC swap

hey guys... i just finished my ZC swap and i was wondering what else i should do to add some nutz...

i have a DOHC, headers, hiflo cat, 2.25 inch pipes to a muffler, reground cams, cam gears, Simota intake, and an LSD tranny... the car fuckin hauls, but i was thinkin of spending a few hundred more bux...

i was thinking an A/F gauge, a FPR and an MSD ignition or at least a coil...

I think if i add more fuel and spark, it should go a bit more... i dunno how its running now.. its only a day old...

anyway... any other thoughts would be nice... nitrous is in the future, along with 10.5:1 pistons and nice rods along with valvetrain upgrades...

any secrets to make this engine super fast would be appreciated...

Thanks

Travis

Re: just finished my ZC swap

Really? You beat those cars? Man, I just got my DOHC ZC swap done and I'm pretty upset with how it performs. I could bearly beat my friends saturn. All my ZC needs is a valve adjustment and a new transmission. The tranny grindind/chatter in all gears. When i push the clutch in i can hear it sound like it grinds almost. It's also constantly chattering when I let the car idle with it in netural and the clutch out. Could my tranny be robbing me of performance?

My mods:
DC Sports Header (Ported to match ZC ports)
GReddy Midpipe+Muffler 2.25inch
No cat. converter
91 CRX Si Trans
New clutch/resurfaced flywheel
Intake
89 Integra ECU

BTW- Where did you get your cam gears from?

Re: just finished my ZC swap

no idea... they came on the engine
but im running ZC tranny with LSD and ZC ecu from edyne... and the cams give me a pretty big edge... i drove my buddies sedan, and it felt like it died at like 6800... mine pulls hard to 7500...

it probably is.. and a valve adjustment will rob power like no other... with the valves staying open or closed, the 4stroke cycle isnt working exactly right...

Dude...it sounds like all the bearings and synchros in your tranny are going bad..they won't rob performance...only if the clutch itself is slipping.

Travis - Congrats on the ZC swap!

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now

Re: just finished my ZC swap

congrats on the swap , you didnt list a CAI so maybe one of them , if not how about a port and polish head and maybe intake, or save up more and get some high comp pistons and rebuild the bottom end ?

Re: just finished my ZC swap

my plan is to build it with 12:1 pistons, some kinda forged rods, and a nice new valve train.. i just dont know what kinda shit to use??

any D series pistons? will the compression be the same? how bout rods? Integra? or D16?

does anyone have a list??

oh ya... CAI... im using the Simota fat ass intake... i might throw a scoop over it to ram it with air....

anyway.. a list would be cool....
