Re: wont start

I think the steering pump fluid leak is a result of turning the vehicle with no power (I read that somewhere). How do you know the fuel pump is working? Any other symptons?

Re: wont start

Someone told me that when you turn the ignition and you hear the pump working in the tank and besides you can smell the gas when trying to start the truck so its my guess

Re: wont start

There are a lot of things that could be going wrong - I think if I were you I would hook up a pressure guage to the fuel system and check for steady fuel pressure first - I think the pressure should be around 60 to 65 pounds but I really am not sure - look around in this forum and I am sure someone knows for sure.

Re: wont start

Check for codes if possible. If fuel pump is working, you will hear it when you turn the key. If it is working, pull off your injector and have someone crank the engine for you. If no fuel present (or low pressure) check for a clogged filter or leak. If it is good start checking your firing system (ie. plugs wires etc.) Good luck.

Re: wont start

Hey altij,

If you can get a $35.00 fuel gauge and hook it up to your shraeder valve. This will tell you if you are getting any fuel to the rail. Good luck!

Re: wont start

Hey altij,

I dont know specifically where to connect a fuel gauge to your truck although this link might help you sort it out.
