85 ranger won't run

i have a 1985 ranger 2300 EFI 5 speed 2 wd. Whenever i pull out it don't wanna take the gasgoing up hill. but if i put it in reverse it will fly up a hill. what is happening with the darn thing

Fuel pump may be getting weak. Check your fuel pressure. Good luck.
