are exhausts really model specific
is there a differnce between the vtec and SI prelude exhausts from 92-96? i know the exhaust manifold and the downpipe are diffrent but, can an exhaust made for teh vtec model bolt up to an SI or will i need to fabricate

I have heard that if you buy a VTEC catback for an SI, the muffler will suspend on the stock hangers, but the pipe won't reach the catalytic converter. I would say you'd need to wield an extra piece of pipe between the catback and the cat to make it all go together.

Switched my s model to a jdm h22a, and bought a greddy EVO 2 muffler for the vtec model so the pipe would be the same diameter. The length was fine only problem ws that the flanges didn't match up perfect from the cat to the 1st part of the cat back system, but a file and a couple hours solved that problem. I know it doesent exactly anwser your question, but if a vtec model exhaust will fit on an s, it should work on a si as well
