Typically, the factory keyless entry does not have any horn honk function (GM) so you can't reprogram the remotes to so. I'm speaking from expreience from the 87-91 and 92-99 body styles as I own both a 90 and alaso 93. Also, I've been in the automotive electronic aftermarket business for some while now.
There are ways to make the horn "chirp" when you lock or unlock the doors either manually or with the keyless entry by using a relay but sometimes this causes unwanted results. For example, if you wired a relay from the lock wire from the key cylinder from the driver's door, it would honk the horn when you pressed the lock button on your remote, but it would also honk the horn when you press the lock switch. Keep in mind that I don't have the complete wiring schemetic for your generation Bonnie, but this is a typical result. There are aftermarket alarms that are upgrades to your factory keyless entry. They include the chirp upon lock/unlock as well as a shock sensor which your factory anti-theft system does not have. |
