Has anyone solved the P10 Keyless Entry availablility yet???

Still wonderin' if my '96 G20 with "dealer installed" leather seats has the keyless entry alarm already. I am trying to program a A269ZJA073 keyless fob and it will not work.

Anyone figure this mystery out yet to which P10 - G20's actually have the keyless factory alarm already installed and which do not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

I think the stock alarm unit is located on the firewall near the steering column. If the alarm is connected to the keyless entry, you should see the alarm unit, with the power unlock/lock wires coming out of it. I think the unlock/lock wires are orange-black and orange-blue, respectively.

So I sent an email to www.infinitihelp.com and this is what they had to say:

Question:

My 1996 G20 (P10) was purchased used. The seller did not provide any keyless
entry remote fobs. The vehicle has "dealer installed" leather seats and a
factory installed security system. Does this model G20 have the keyless
entry alreay installed? I tried to reprogram a remote from a 1993
G20 (same FCC and part#) but could not get it to work. Any
assistance would be appreciated. Thanks! Brandon

Thanks for visit my site'

Yes, your car has already install keyless remote system. I'm not sure why
your remote did not work, it should work, both have the same system.
Try to reprogram again. Fallow the instruction on the FAQ page on my site.
If that those not work, disconnect the car battery for about 30 minutes to
reset the system and try again.

Wonder if the remote I purchased is a freakin' dead remote. The Battery registered a 2.98V on my meter. Any ideas???

After you do the 8X times with the key, do you:

1. unlock/lock the drivers door manually
2. unlock/lock all doors with switch on center console
OR
3. press the unlock botton on the remote, then the lock button on the remote.

If you look at the www.infinitihelp.com page, it says manually unlock/lock drivers door

If you look at previous posts, they conflict and say

unlock/lock remote control
and/or
unlock/lock center switch

Getting more confused!

I read that you have to lock and unlock the doors manually before it will work

Damn! Still no go! I am going to the dealer where the original owner always had it serviced. I got in good with the parts guy a few weeks ago, so I'll see if they'll help me out on this.

I am still thinking I got scammed and was sold a bad remote on eBay.

The eBay seller stated that he had a new alarm installed with power loks etc. in his G20 and that is why he is selling the remote. Now I am wondering if the only thing wrong with his factory alarm is the remote was bad and he figured it was the alarm.
