color check?

my 97's got a couple scratches on it, and before i buy one of the paint sticks i wanted to know if there's any way to know what color car i have. the GM paint section had like 20 different greens. wtf?

and is there instructions for taillight replacement anywhere on the net? i can't find a guide after extensive searching, and i was thinking about getting euros.

color check solution

If you contact your local dealership, they can run a scan on your VIN. The vehicle build information states the exact color name of the paint. If your vehicle is older than a 1995, you might have contact the Chev Customer Assistance Center by phone. They can find the information for you.

Best wishes!
