Power Mirror Installation
Has anyone changed out manual mirrors for power mirrors on a 98 Spyder? While changing out a blown door speaker I noticed the power mirror wire taped to the door. I have manual mirrors now and have always wanted power mirrors. I assumed that I would find another similar unused connection under the dash and I would simply have to get a power mirror switch and plug it in. Problem is I can't find the connection under the dash (if there is one). Has anyone done this before? Do I need some sort of connector plug or is the plug just buried under the dash somewhere? Appreciate your help.

Re: Power Mirror Installation
I would guess that someone broke off the stock mirror, and bought power ones to replace it. didn't have anything to connect them, and taped the wire to the door. I can't think of any other reason that there would be a wire comming from it. Just my 2 cents.
as far as just "putting a wire to it" I don't think it would be that easy. there's a lot more involved like... controlling them. Do you have a pad to make them move??

Re: Power Mirror Installation
The original mirrors, which are still on the car, are manual. When I pulled off the door panel to fix the speaker, I then noticed the rear view mirror control wire taped to the door. It dawned on me that Mitsubishi doesn't wire each car differently, they're all the same. In this case, they didn't install power mirrors originally so they didn't use the connection and taped it off. I assumed the "standard" wiring on all cars would also have a similar "taped off" connection under the dash and that's where I'm running into the problem. But it makes sense that they use a standard wire bundle when they originally built the cars rather than a custom bundle depending on which accessories were installed.
