Hello once more. I wasn't sure if I should post two separate questions in the same post. I am looking to find a pinstripe for my driver's side rear quarter panel. Does anyone know if I can order that from a Parts Dept? If so, are they tough to put on? Thanks, again. |

Re: Rear Quarter Panel Pinstripe?
You can get most standard pinstriping at any auto parts store that sells paint (even spraypaint)
However, I'm not sure you're talking about a pinstripe that is common (usually goes up around the edge of the rear side glass) or a lower body molding (large rubbery strip that runs into the bumper)? If it's the simple two stripe pinstipe under and around the window, it's fairly easy to install yourself: 1. attach it where it continues from other pinstripes (the sliding door) 2. pull the pinstriping back toward the end of the area (adhesive backing removed), and attach at the rear, or the first corner (if you have a corner). You want to lay the pinstripe in as long a length as possible, so it will come out even and straight. 3. Now if you have to turn a corner, adhere only the corner to the car, and then do your next long length. 4. trim the edges with a razor blade, or xacto knife. 5. slowly run your hand along the pinstripe and ensure that it's stuck to the car body. 6. the clear piece that separates the two stripes is supposed to be removed. Use your razor blade again to separate the stripe from the clear cover, and remove the clear backing (rubbing the stripe to the body will help the backing come off). 7. the end edges can be finished by lifting the stripes and crossing them and re-attach to the body. Trim off the excess with the razor knife.

Thanks for the information. I called our local Dodge dealer to have the parts dept order the 'tape' for me. It'll be in tomorrow and (once she's back home from the shop), I'll be printing your directions and fixing her up. Thanks! |
