Maserati "Birdcage"

This is the Maserati "Birdcage", apparently a racing legend, I saw at Ferrari of Central Florida. The salesman said only 2 exist and it's owned exclusively by Ferrari S.p.A.

One look at the framework, as seen in that interior photo, shows how they arrived at the name. The hard part is telling a Tipo 60 from a Tipo 61, the big difference being engine displacement.... I surely cannot tell.

Only two left? I know they had a reputation as being hard to repair post-crash, but only two left????

The fact that there are only two left explains the price...

Re: Maserati "Birdcage"

I don't think you can really have a set price for a car like that. They're hardly ever for sale, and if they are it's on an auction.
