moods for 2004 maxima

Were getting a 2004 or 2005 maxima in the next couple months and me and my dad are looking at some upgrades. First, we want go get exhaust and air filter/system. We also want to get a new grill for it. were looking at probally the Greddy SP2 exhaust but not shure what air filter, or grill. Most likely Billet but not shure. any help would be great!

Not much available yet for the 6th gen Maximas but you're on the right track. If the 6th gen follows the 5th, you'll want to get headers too.

i'd love to get headers but that would void the warranty.

performance upgrades for the max

If you go to a search engine, and type Nissan Performance, there are a ton of sites that come up from stillen.com or performancenisasan.com.. you will find a ton of things from grills to cams to... dammit.. you name it.. Do yourselves the favor of getting the SE with the 6 SPD. Unreal handling, unreal pickup, and... Ugh... they rock... only negative, there are not too many out there, and they are either bone stock, or loaded to the gills.

I used to work at Nissan, so I know the car well, if you have any other questions....

Re: moods for 2004 maxima

thanks alot! this is going to start out my moms car but me and my dad are taking over. she said she wont drive stick mostly because of all the traffic around us. but yes we are getting the SE with everything but the navigation. If you dont get the naviagtion do you still get the display screen? Also if you get the greedy SP2 exhaust. It is dual exhaust right? and what do you think of this grill? http://www.custommaxima.com/Trenz04.php

Trenz grilles look like shit in person, I would shy away from that one. There is a much better one around, can't remember what it's called, where the horizontal lines are spaced much further apart.

The display screen is for the navi system, without the navi system there's no need for the display screen. so that would be a "no".

You need the Sarona grille, it looks badass.

I like it a lot!!! If ebay has any intakes I suggest just getting one of them, they all do the samething you just pay for the name. And Greddy SP2, sounds like a good choice Oh and lower that puppy with some Eibach springs.

Make sure you get the SE 5spd Auto if your not gonna get a 6spd. The 5spd autos are QUICK!!! And the display screen comes standard I believe. It shows your radio controls and stuff.

wow, if you guys are getting the new 3.5SE....that is a quick ride. it accelerates real smooth and the shifts in the auto are almost imperceptable.

if you haven't ridden in one or driven one yet, i think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how quick it is

of course there's always room for improvement

btw, Stillen already has cams, rods, greddy spII exhaust, intakes, some pulleys, eibachs, and more...

I did have a pick of one that had the Sarona grille and no body kit, but I can't find it. And yes the SP2 is dual.

Re: moods for 2004 maxima

i'm on my 2nd maxima and they've both had weapon-r intakes. i also had one in my 96 200sx se-r. they're sweet and the sound is unbeatable.

however, i'd stay away from custommaxima if i were you. they're a bunch of bums. i sent them multiple emails to get them to match a price for struts(which they claim that they'll do) but never got a response until i mentioned the year of my car and they finally responded, however, the response had nothing to do with the struts i wanted, the guy wanted to use my car to custom fit a bumper they were prototyping. they guys wouldn't even respond to help a customer, they just wanted to use my car to benefit their company. they never mentioned anything about the emails. the guy, Brian, still calls me once in a while asking to use my car.

...sorry, had to vent
