Question

Any way to check codes W/O special tool - 97 Taurus

My 97 Ford Taurus check engine light is on again. Is there any way to check the error code without purchasing a special tool? I was able to do it on my 99 Nissan Maxima by turning a screw and counting the series of blinks.

No way that I'm aware of, but Autozone will read codes for free.
