Talking Minimum Lift for 32X11.5's?

Hello all, I apologize for my dumb question here but I have a '90 XJ with okay condition stock suspension on it and I also have a beautiful set of 32X11.5 ProComps that I would like to throw on there.

Now my question is; what is the least expensive way to get those tires to fit on my ride? I am thinking of going for a 4" lift hoping no major modifications need to be done to the driveshaft or anything, is this right?
And also because budget is making me go this route I was wondering if there is any cool junkyard kind of way to get that lift? Maybe like use another model of jeep leaf springs or something?

Sorry again, but I would love to get the opinon of all you guys who have been doin this way longer then me.

thanks
-aj

well this is a big issue with many many answers. you will have to lengthen your drivelines, trackbar, pitman arm, and control arms to give your jeep a safe 4 inches. as far as junkyard lifts go you can get the rear springs off of a ZJ and they will give you about 3" in the front and as far as the rear you can use blocks, shackles, or invest in good leaf springs.

Re: Minimum Lift for 32X11.5's?

i wouldnt even try to lift it 4 inches, that would need a lot of modifications. i just got rid of 90 xj with 32x11.5 MTR's and it had 2 1/2 inches of lift that i did pretty cheap.Rubicon Express is where i got everything.2 1/2 blocks for the back and i put spacers in the front.they didn't have 2 1/2 spacers but i go 1 3/4 and 3/4 spacers and stacked them.if you use the blocks in the back you might have to take the rear sway bar off if you even have one.mine was going to rub the tires.i also dropped my transfer case about an inch because i had a little bit of vibration but all you need for that is some spacers for the trans cross member and longer bolts.the track bar was a little short but i know a guy who knows how to put it in a press and straighten out a little bit of the bend and that gave it some extra length.if you try to put rear springs of a zj in the front that will lower it,not lift it.actually i dont even think they would fit. i got longer shocks but if you arent going wheeling the stock ones might be long enough.the only other thing i did was put lower control arms from a wj because i got tired of my tires rubbing on hard turns.the bushings were too wide on those so i had to cut them but they worked great because they have a curve in them.i didnt mess with brake lines or driveshafts and i drove that jeep for almost 5 years like that.my brother has it now and it still drives great.

the coil springs from a ZJ are the same diameter as a cherokee's and they are a lot longer....i work at a jeep shop i've seen it done more than once.

wow, hey xj31 i totally misunderstood what we were talking about. you were right, i was thinking of a lift for a ZJ not an XJ. you can take the front springs from a ZJ or XJ and put them in the rear for approx. 3" in the rear

If I were you I would go 4.5in, because you wil have plenty of room for those 32's, and if you wanted to you might be able to get by with some 33's with some rub
